Lori’s Voice Reaches Million Dollar Milestone For Special Needs Children

Lori’s Voice, a West Michigan non-profit, has reached a $1 million dollar milestone in offering grants to children with special needs.  Lori and Dave Hastings established the all-volunteer Lori’s Voice back in 2011 to help families with special needs children afford the costs of care not covered by insurance.  Their mission is to inspire children challenged with neuromuscular or degenerative diseases to become the very best they can be.  They have also donated special wheelchairs to area beaches so everyone can enjoy the sun, water and sand.  Since they began, Lori’s Voice continues to grow in both volunteers and monies granted.  They hold fundraisers each year, including Lori’s Voice Walk for the Challenged.  This year’s event takes place on Saturday, June 13th at Berlin Raceway.  They rely on donations so if you would like to help and donate, here is their website.    http://www.lorisvoice.org/

On a personal note, I would like to say congratulations to the hardest working people advocating and helping those in need here in our community.  Dave and Lori, I can’t thank you enough for all the work that you do to help those that need it most.  I feel fortunate to have met you, and been able in some small way, help get the word out about all the great things you can do for families with special needs children.  My daughter Payton is a special needs child and I can attest first hand to the great lengths they go to, to help those struggling with insurance and more to get the items/equipment needed.  Thank you and congratulations!  -Kim St. James
