September 2nd marks the 75th Anniversary of the end of World War II. There are several celebrations and events planned in Thunder Country. Today you can view signs with pictures and stories of WWII veterans, displayed on the lawn of the Village of Heather Hills as a way to honor them. On September 1st, a “In Memoriam and Remembrance Bell” ringing event will be held at Ah-Nab-Awen Park starting at 6:30pm. On September 2nd, a flyover featuring WWII aircraft will fly over downtown Grand Rapids at 6pm. A list of other events and celebrations can be found at the Ford Museum website.
