Billboard recently ranked the world’s best concert venues. Grand Rapids very own Van Andel Arena showed up on the list.
According to the venue’s Facebook page, it was ranked #5 worldwide and #3 in the U.S. for venues with a capacity of 10,001 – 15,000 attendants.
Van Andel Arena opened it’s doors in 1996 and has been home to the Detroit Red Wings’ AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, since it’s doors opened.
The Facebook post also mentions some of the music icons that have played at the venue, including Elton John and Kid Rock.
